Nissan X-Trail Platinum

When one hears “Platinum”, other words like premium, exclusive and expensive come to mind. Well the new Nissan X-Trail Platinum is all of that, except maybe expensive. Prices will start at £29,180 which is actually cheaper than the Tekna model on which is based.
So what makes it justify its name?
It has some new equipment features which no other model in the rage has had before. A sophisticated new touch screen communication unit features satellite navigation, iPod connectivity and Bluetooth. A rear view camera which projects the view at the back trough a small screen embedded in the rear view mirror will certainly help when parking and also showing off to friends. leather upholstery and electrically-adjustable, heated front seats also come as a necessity.
The front and rear of the vehicle is further enhanced with the help of additional protection plates located below the bumpers. Chrome steps shine at the sides and also chrome moldings protect the doors.

Toyota Prius - News

Recalibrating the Toyota Prius - News.

In terms of ingress/egress, driver comfort and even the ability “to sit behind one’s self,” my particular ordering is Prius, Leaf and Volt.  A Full Disclosure here: As many readers know, I’m bigger than the average bear, have a disproportionately long torso and a less than agile back as well. Also, curiously, the driver seat has a height adjustment missing in the passenger seat of a Prius. As a front seat passenger, I have equal head room in Prius and Leaf. No contest, though, in the rear seat. I find the Volt’s head room interference back there to be well nigh claustrophobic.
All three are 5-door hatchbacks, a layout that I find very useful. Indeed, if I owned any of them, I’d likely fold the rear seats except when needed.
The contrast of performance among the three is strong. In its initial “charge depletion” mode, the Volt behaves like a pure electric.  As such, it’s the quickest of the trio. Once in “charge sustaining” mode, its engine is relatively unobtrusive. This plug-in series hybrid is good, sound, innovative technology.
The Leaf’s performance isn’t far behind, and indeed I find it the sportiest of the trio. Alas, its inherent pure EV range makes it unsuitable for some missions, namely the San Francisco portion of my adventure.
Toyota drivers know how to spread the style around better than most. But that’s what is so great about this brand: each model seems to invite a personal flavor thrown into the mix. But the interior can’t be neglected when making custom changes. More so perhaps than any other area of your vehicle, the inside is what needs your touch. After all, it’s where you spend most of your time! Toyota Wood Grain never disappoints. Ford Grill Guard.

One electric vehicle on the market that has been frequently overlooked was also the first: the Ford Transit Connect electric van. That was probably because it only came as a cargo van, with only two front seats. Well, that’s about to change.
Ahead of the LA Auto Show, Azure Dynamics, the company that converts the standard Transit Connect to battery power for Ford, announced it will build a new five-passenger version of the van, complete with rear side windows.
Like the cargo version, the passenger Transit Connect will be aimed at commercial customers. But that doesn’t mean that ordinary consumers looking for a larger electric car than the Nissan Leaf couldn’t buy one.
Ford is known throughout the industry for building all-American machines that can take a beating and still come out of it looking pretty. But there’s one exception: leaving the front-end vulnerable is not always a great idea, especially when you take pride in your investment. There’s just too much out there than can cause harm. That’s why Ford Grille Guards at CARiD are so important. With a Ford Grill Guard, your vehicle has its own personal protection locked on in the front for more driving confidence than ever before. A Ford Grill Guard allows you to travel wherever and whenever in all weather conditions without having to worry about those little “mishaps” that turn into big problems. Plus, the bold touch of style doesn’t hurt, either!
Here at CARiD.com, we know Ford Grille Guards are always a hot item. We stock our selection with big-time names such as Westin®, Romik®, and Black Horse® for you to choose from. The difference between us and everybody else? Our everyday low prices! We keep the cost down so you can get your hands on superior Stainless Steel defense without breaking the bank. Your new Ford Grill Guard also comes with easy instructions and all necessary mounting hardware for a DIY installation. Give your Ford a “facemask” you can be proud of. You won’t regret it.

2013 Honda Fit

A few months back, we told you that Honda had a redesigned CR-V in the works for 2012. Now, the automaker announced that the new affordable compact SUV is set to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. Joining the 2012 CR-V is an all-electric version of the Honda Fit, which is slated for the 2013 model year.
The introduction of the Fit EV will likely help Honda establish its stake in the electric vehicle market, which currently includes cars like the Nissan Leaf, Mitsubishi i and the upcoming Chevrolet Spark EV. “Borrowing heavily from the look of the internal-combustion Fit, the EV concept featured a high-density coaxial motor and a lithium-ion battery park,” writes Edmunds. “The concept has a top speed of 90 mph and has 70-100 miles of driving range per charge.”
Honda Body Kits
If you're looking to add a whole new dimension to your exterior, Body Kits at CARiD are the answer! We'll help you find a Body Kit that turns your "everyday" vehicle into a customized ride that leaves a lasting impression. Only ultra-grade ABS, Fiberglass, and Urethane are used along with a precise factory-match painting system to ensure the perfect fit-and-finish which matters most. Drive with a refined, custom presence everyone respects. A Body Kit for your model is the first step.

Test Drive: 2011 Jeep Patriot.

I’m expecting my first child, so a surefire way to pique my interest is to have me test any car that’s remotely family-friendly. So it wasn’t as a spec-happy car reviewer that I evaluated the

Jeep Patriot press loaner I had last week. It was as a mom-to-be who’s actually in the market for a family car.

The Patriot makes a strong case for itself as a baby-mobile. It’s an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick for 2011. The four-wheel drive model with an automatic transmission that I tested gets an EPA-estimated 21/26 mpg – not bad for something that can handle light off-roading. The Patriot’s classic Jeep-ish styling also appealed to me. It stands out in a sea of soft and round crossovers. Then there’s the price: starting at $15,995, the Patriot won’t bust family budgets. My test car stickered at $25,147, but had a lot of features, including four-wheel drive, Bluetooth, iPod interface, heated front seats and satellite radio.
I also liked the way the Jeep Patriot drives. Unlike a lot of SUVs that can head off-road, it was comfortable and smooth around town, but had just enough roughness to remind you that yeah, you’re in a Jeep. Even though it doesn’t handle as well as other crossovers do, that touch of truck made it fun to drive. It felt rugged, but not uncomfortable. Its small size and trail-ready turning radius made it perfect for tight parking lots.
Style inside and out is what Patriot drivers are attracted to and CARiD.com has them covered. We feature a full line of Jeep Patriot Grain guaranteed to brighten up your interior in a big way. Choose from our dazzling array of Real Woods, Real Carbon Fiber, Aluminum, Chrome, and your exact OEM Factory-Match Wood. Installing your new Jeep Patriot Grain is as simple as it gets. Just follow the included schematic for a quick “stick on” installation that provides a concise factory-fit. You never have to worry about the quality. At CARiD.com, we know the deal. That’s why we look to expert designers such as B&I, Sherwood®, and WOW Trim to do the job right. You even get a Lifetime Warranty to prove it! If a stylish, more personal cockpit is what has you scanning the globe, call off the search: your Jeep Wood Dash is waiting right here…
